Nice one, and it brings back memories of being allowed to play with button boxes when I was little … by my Mum and grandmother on dad’s side of the family. Scattered amongst the buttons were beads, and some of them were pearls.

Earlier this year I spent a month or so concentrating on drawing a wide variety of beads to applique, then drawing designs using the new shapes, but mixing them up with the traditional simple leaf shape. This is a fun way to waste a few hours, and is a great way to play with beads without the risk of spilling them all over the table, the floor, and anything else within range.
